Czym najlepiej zadaszyć budynek inwentarski?
The choice of roofing for a livestock building affects not only the durability of the roof itself but also the conditions inside the building. High humidity, intensive ventilation and the presence of chemicals and biological agents can accelerate the deterioration of inadequately protected materials.
A solution designed for these applications is provided by AGRO Fiberglass roof sandwich panels, available from e-PROJECT21. Their construction is adapted to the conditions found in cattle sheds, pig houses, poultry buildings and other agricultural facilities.
How are AGRO roof panels constructed?
AGRO roof panels consist of several layers permanently bonded together. The external facing is made from profiled steel sheet protected against weather conditions. A rigid polyurethane foam core provides thermal insulation and gives the panel its rigidity.
The most important feature distinguishing AGRO panels from standard sandwich panels is their internal facing. It is made from Fiberglass PRFV, a material combining glass fibres with polyester resin. This facing is resistant to moisture, biological agents and many chemicals present in livestock environments.
AGRO panels are available in various thicknesses, allowing their thermal performance to be matched to the purpose of the building and the required internal conditions. e-PROJECT21 offers AGRO roof panels in thicknesses ranging from 40 to 140 mm.
Resistance to moisture and livestock-building conditions
In cattle sheds, pig houses and poultry buildings, the internal roof surface is exposed to humid air and vapours containing substances such as ammonia. Prolonged exposure to this environment can cause standard steel facings to corrode.
The Fiberglass internal facing does not absorb moisture and does not corrode like unprotected steel sheet. AGRO panels are therefore well suited to buildings with high humidity and exposure to chemical and biological agents.
The smooth surface also makes the interior easier to keep clean. The ability to remove deposits and dirt is important for maintaining appropriate hygiene in animal housing. Cleaning methods and products should always comply with the panel manufacturer’s recommendations.
Roof insulation and reduced condensation
The polyurethane foam core reduces heat transfer through the roof. This helps maintain a more stable indoor temperature during both winter and hot weather. Selecting the correct panel thickness can reduce energy losses and improve conditions for the animals.
Thermal insulation also reduces the risk of water vapour condensing on the internal surface of the roof. However, the panels do not replace a properly designed ventilation system. Effective removal of moisture and contaminated air remains essential in every livestock building.
Fast installation and durable panel joints
AGRO panels provide the roof covering, insulation layer and internal finish of the roof in a single component. This reduces the number of layers installed separately and can shorten the roof construction programme.
The panels are connected using specially formed interlocking joints. Correct alignment, suitable fasteners and carefully installed seals help minimise leaks and thermal bridges.
AGRO panels can be used both in new buildings and when modernising existing roofs. The supporting structure must be properly prepared, the required roof pitch must be maintained and installation must follow the relevant technical documentation.
Where can AGRO roof panels be used?
AGRO roof sandwich panels are primarily used in:
- cattle sheds and other buildings for cattle,
- pig houses,
- poultry houses and other poultry buildings,
- stables,
- agricultural buildings and farm storage facilities,
- buildings exposed to high humidity or chemical agents.
When selecting panels, it is important to consider the purpose of the building, humidity levels, ventilation, thermal-insulation requirements, support spacing and the loads acting on the roof. Properly selected and installed AGRO panels provide durable, insulated roofing suitable for the demanding conditions found in livestock buildings.
